Audi Ireland has announced the launch of the new Audi Q3. A second-generation model, the new Audi Q3 is a family SUV which boasts unparalleled style, versatility and space for enhanced comfort. As with all top-of-the-line Audi models, the new Audi Q3 features a fully digital operating and display system, an extensive range of infotainment solutions and innovative driver assistance technology. The new Audi Q3 will launch in Audi Naas in late 2018.

EXTERIOR DESIGN CONCEPT: STRENGTH & PRESENCE

The Audi Q3 boasts a bolder new body with a much sportier design concept than its predecessor, thanks to its striking Singleframe grill in octagon design, which is divided by vertical bars, along with the large air inlets. Audi has enhanced the masculine front end further with its intensive play of light and shadow. Its narrow headlights run inwards with a uniquely wedge-like shape for stylish illumination. Its side view epitomises the balance of the exterior design with perfectly symmetrical lighting from headlights to rear lights. The impressive shoulder line of the car connects both ends, resulting in a strong, athletic appearance.

The contours of the model draw inspiration from Audi’s quattro DNA, and make the SUV appear even wider. Supported by a long roof edge spoiler, which also flanks the rear window at the side, the steeply raked D pillars also make a considerable contribution to the SUV’s more purposeful and powerful stance.

INTERIOR DESIGN CONCEPT: STYLISHLY SPACIOUS

The interior design of the new Audi Q3 mirrors that of the exterior with stylish, taut lines, and a nod to the brand’s larger models. The architecture of the interior perfectly harmonises with its all-new operating concept with MMI touch display set against a high-gloss, glass-like black surround. Together with the air conditioning controls underneath, it is tilted ten degrees toward the driver, with all displays, buttons and controls ergonomically designed for optimal ease and comfort.

Compared with its predecessor, the new Audi Q3 has grown in virtually all dimensions, boasting a size of 4.485 metres long, 1.856 metres wide and 1.585 metres high. Its wheelbase, has been stretched by 77 millimetres, offering the customer considerably more knee room, headroom and elbow room. In addition, the luggage compartment is extremely convenient thanks to an increase of 70 litres more than the previous generation Q3. The compartment size now totals 530 or 675 litres depending on the position of the rear seats and backrests - with the backrests completely folded down the capacity rises to 1,525 litres.

INTELLIGENTLY CONNECTED

With a cutting-edge infotainment system, the Audi Q3 offers the same advanced technical functions as seen in Audi’s premium segments. Its top-of-the-line navigation system recognises the driver’s preferences based on previous journeys, allowing it to generate suitable route suggestions, along with traffic information, a point-of-interest search function and information on parking spaces and filling stations. The Audi Q3 utilises the Audi fleet’s swarm intelligence to forecast the availability of roadside parking space, to provide information on hazardous spots and current speed limits.

The voice control function accesses information stored in the vehicle, as well as the detailed knowledge in the cloud to respond. The Audi Q3 is even more tightly integrated with the myAudi app, with seamless connection to the driver’s smartphone. The customer can, for instance, transfer navigation routes, smartphone calendar details to the MMI, as well as locate where the Q3 is parked.

ENGINES & SUSPENSION: AGILITY ON AND OFF-ROAD

The new Audi Q3 will be available in both petrol and diesel units - in combination with either front-wheel or quattro drive. The power outputs will range from 150 hp to 230 hp, with four-cylinder direct injection units with turbocharging for a powerful, refined and efficient drive. In off-road conditions, the permanent all-wheel drive delivers an excellent driving experience, with optimal traction and unshakable stability. Activated at the push of a button, the optional hill descent control maintains a pre-set speed on a steep downhill gradient. The driver can vary the characteristics of the Audi Q3 depending on the driving situation, road conditions or personal needs using the Audi drive select dynamic handling system with six profiles – from markedly comfortable, highly efficient through to out-and-out sporty. The system also influences the optional suspension with damper control where sensors measure the movements of all four wheels as well as the vehicle’s lateral and longitudinal acceleration and adjusts the dampers as required. This results in enhanced driving dynamics with even more comfort

The new Audi Q3 will be available to order from late 2018. For further information about the Audi Q3 or the rest of the Audi premium automotive range, contact Audi Naas on 045 90 6666.
